I've decided to write an article about the people in my life. People I've met along the way and stayed in touch with. People who inspire me not because they follow the safest path, but because they dare to live life as an adventure. These are the ones who choose courage over comfort – the doers, the dreamers, the explorers. Their stories remind me that life is not meant to be endured but embraced, fully and fearlessly.

Some people follow the beaten path. Others carve new ones with every step they take. Jorge Lattof belongs to the latter. With salt in his hair, a heart full of fire, and an unshakable belief in action over excuses, Jorge is a man who doesn’t just talk about life – he lives it.
He recently returned from a two-month sailing journey across southern Europe. From the historic coasts of Methoni, Greece, to the sun-drenched island of Favignana, Italy, Jorge was not on vacation – he was on a mission. A mission to keep exploring, keep growing, and keep proving that age, background, or circumstance should never define one’s limits.
On June 21, he’ll set off again – this time from Scotland, navigating his way to the shores of Norway. And when that chapter ends, another will begin. Because for Jorge, the journey never truly stops.
A Man of Many Lives
Trying to define Jorge by one role would be impossible. Over the years, he has worn countless hats – and worn them all with pride. He is a certified team leader, gym instructor, personal trainer, swimming teacher, masseur, CPR instructor, and lifeguard. He’s also been a camp leader for over 25 years, shaping young minds and leading countless outdoor adventures.
His career has taken him from working as a tour guide in Thailand to managing youth teams during global events like Partille Cup and Gothia Cup. In those roles, he’s been responsible for everything from training in service and hygiene to conflict management and motivation. And in each job, he brings the same infectious energy and sense of purpose.
Hands That Build, a Mind That Imagines
Jorge doesn't just work with people – he works with his hands. From construction and landscaping to carpentry and obstacle course design, he’s the kind of guy who builds what others only imagine. In 1994, he founded BUNKEBERGET, a grassroots skatepark built from listening to what young people really wanted. Later, he built an entire obstacle course in Selca, Croatia, tailored for group training and travel.
He’s also organized training trips, designed group travel experiences, and led outdoor events with a creative twist. Whether he’s behind a hammer or behind a microphone as a speaker at OCR races, Jorge finds ways to connect, inspire, and bring people together.
The Power of Service and Sensitivity
What truly sets Jorge apart is not just his ability to do many things – but how he does them. With presence. With passion. With an unmatched sense of service. His question “How can I serve you?” isn’t a sales pitch – it’s the foundation of his character.
This attitude has led him to meaningful work in social outreach, including youth development and crime prevention efforts at Fryshuset – one of Sweden’s most respected community organizations. There, his combination of discipline and empathy made a real difference in the lives of young people navigating tough circumstances.
Life on the Water – and Beyond
Jorge is never far from the sea. He sails, commands motorboats, and holds a captain’s license. But his connection to the ocean is more than practical – it’s symbolic. The sea is unpredictable, demanding, and honest – just like the life Jorge chooses to live.
Every wave he rides reminds him – and those around him – that comfort zones are overrated, and that the real magic lies just beyond the horizon.
“There Are No Problems – Only Good Solutions”
If Jorge has a motto, it’s this: “There are no problems – only good solutions.” It’s not just a nice phrase; it’s the compass that guides him. When others see obstacles, Jorge sees potential. Where some see failure, he sees fuel. His optimism isn’t naive – it’s earned through years of adapting, rebuilding, and helping others find their footing.
His approach to life is a blend of grit, heart, and creativity. He’s not the type to wait for permission or approval. He builds. He leads. He lives.
Final Thoughts
Jorge Lattof is more than a man of many talents – he’s a man of deep purpose. Whether he’s coaching, building, sailing, speaking, or just sharing a cup of coffee with someone who needs to be heard, he shows up with authenticity and courage.
In a world that often celebrates surface-level success, Jorge reminds us of something deeper: That the real measure of a person is not in what they own, but in what they give, create, and stand for.
Epilogue
On July 26, the Viking ship will land in Haugesund. Another chapter in Jorge’s story will be written. But one thing is certain – this is far from the end. Jorge Lattof isn’t made to stand still. He’s made to discover, to create – and to inspire others to do the same.
He may sail from country to country, but his roots are found in action, in kindness, and in the fearless pursuit of a meaningful life.
